Did you know that we offer telephone consultations? These aren’t meant to replace face to face consultations but may be helpful and more convenient for you.
At present we offer telephone consultations in the morning for problems that you might feel need addressed more urgently but may not need a face to face consultation. These may include advice about managing common illnesses, extension of sick notes or problems with your medication. Don’t forget you can also discuss medication problems with your local pharmacist and if he or she is unable to help our medicine management team or pharmacist may also be able to assist. If following a telephone consultation the doctor feels it would be better for you to be seen in person, you may then be offered a face to face appointment within an appropriate time. If you would like to book one of these telephone appointments, please contact the surgery at 8.30am for a same day telephone appointment.
We also offer telephone consultations for follow up. If you’ve been to see your doctor and need to be reviewed again about the same problem but find it difficult to attend the surgery, please ask if a telephone follow-up appointment would be appropriate. These are bookable in advance and take place during the afternoon surgery
Finally, telephone appointments can be helpful to follow up on hospital appointments and any changes that may have been suggested.
Telephone consultations are quick, convenient, help with continuity of care with your usual GP and may mean you don’t have to take time off work, so next time you need advice why not consider giving us a ring.
Children will always be seen as soon as possible if brought to the surgery. Please ring first to help the surgery run smoothly. This will be quicker than a home visit.
It is our policy to respect the privacy, dignity, religious and cultural beliefs of our patients. A chaperone is available at the request of clinician or patient. If you feel you would like a chaperone to be present during a physical examination by a Doctor or any other Health Professional, or if you would prefer to be examined by a Doctor or health professional of the same gender as yourself, please ask and we will do our best to comply with your wishes.
