Appointment System

In response to patients' wishes expressed in a survey, we decided to modify our appointment structure in order to afford easier access, less waiting on the phone, and to increase the availability of appointments.

In summary, appointments now start at 8.30am rather than 8.40am, adding almost 40 new early appointments. More time is now allocated for 'on the day' telephone consultations for patients who may have a simple problem which can be dealt with over the phone.  Please call at 8.30am for one of these telephone appointments.  Once booked, the GP will call you at some point during their  morning surgery.

The major change is that there is no longer a need to phone up on the day in order to be seen urgently. We now run a 'urgent surgery' from 10.30am until 11.30am where patients who require 'on the day' urgent attention will be seen by priority. These appointments are limited to five minutes' duration only. Check in for this service is from 10.20am onwards. We request that patients do not arrive before 10.20am.

The flow chart below succinctly describes the procedure.
